Dj Shakey is a legendary New York City dance club and underground party dj who has expanded to produce original music and perform nationally and internationally. She is an avid record collector as well as a live electronic musician, having founded the Controllerism movement. She combines her love of technology with her diverse musical background to create a sound that is both pioneering and familiar. Her releases include: jungle remixes of Reggae Warrior for House of David Gang and Like Roses for Juakali & Sub Swara, a bass version of Kunda’s Song by Subatomica, and many funky breaks remixes with collaborator Illexxandra as Empire Breaks NYC. Shakey has hit festival stages at Bonnaroo (TN), Gathering of the Vibes (CT), Mysteryland (NY), Bang On! (NY), Stilldream (CA), Shambhala (British Columbia), and Boomtown Fair (UK), as well as Burning Man festival camps and regional Burns such as Gratitude (NJ), PEX /Brotherly (PA), Meso Creso / Nomadico / Tropic of Bass / Mischief (DC), Party Liberation Front (VA), Freakeasy (IL), and Loveburn (FLA).
